Dr. Berg talks about the reasons people have flabby arms and how to burn arm fat. The main reason that people tend to have fat arms is loss of collagen, which happens over a period of time as a person grows older. Out of all the hormones, the growth hormone tends to be the single most critical factor that is responsible for lose arm fat. In adults, the growth hormone controls factors such as fat burning, tightening muscles, protein synthesis, energy. The major causes for flabby arms is lower levels of growth hormone and high cortisol levels.

In the second part of this video, Dr. Berg talks about how to get rid of flabby arms. To lose arm fat and avoid loose skin one must lower cortisol levels and raise the growth hormone. Lower cortisol levels can be achieved by low intensity exercises (walking), sleeping, avoid stress, potassium foods, avoid sugar. Higher growth hormone can be achieved by high intensity exercises, sleeping, proteins, avoid sugar.

Loose skin normally stems from a loss of collagen, which occurs when the adrenal glands become stress. This is common during and after menopause, primarily because the adrenal glands act as a back up gland for the ovaries. The buffer for cortisol is GH (Growth Hormone) and as GH drops, there is nothing left to counter the bad effects of cortisol.

3. Increase some protein (not more than 6 ounces per meal)

  2. Ok, I get it now. I'm intermittent fasting. I'm friendly to the 10:30pm to 4:30am pattern each day. I use adaptagenics 2 or 3 times a week (rodiola and ashwaganda). I have a multi that is low on potassium. I have hashimotos symptoms that I'm recovering from. I get b vitamins including a methyl cobalamin and a methyl folate. I eat 0 sugar and use one or two pieces of fruit any given day. I eat varied protien amounts 4 oz to 12 oz. I eat a lot of cruciferous/goitrogens that are boiled or steamed.I drink water, mostly plastic bottled rest is restaurant water. I drink a buttered, MCT oil, vitamin C (whole), electrolyte blend, micronized magnesium, herba mate tea — 20 oz in morning. My intervals of meals are 6-8 our window, first meal at lunch. No alcohol. I am using focused chiropractic and stress training to strengthen my lack of muscle strength from years of programming. I tested my HCL and find it acidic even from one tablet – my enzymes are produced. From your vid I need to increase potassium, but need to find how high to start with. I need to walk a lot until I move from one body type to the next. I need to continue my low carb, high sat fat diet with tons of good veggies. I need to change my meats to a lower quantity and much higher quality (organic, grass fed and/or free range). I need a water filter – Berkey would do fine. I am about to start Dr Amy Myers multi which includes a number of items I was not taking including selenium and tocotrienols. I am going to continue with NAC, DHA oil, mercola Krill, carnetine, zinc, vit C whole, electrolyte blend, magnesium, K2 MK7, D3, GABA and Thienine for helping me sleep – I use a CPAP. Gosh that's a lot! I have lost 40 lbs but it halted and now I think I know some reasons why … thanks for the hints :)

  4. Dr BERG- is Tongkat Ali (herb) OKto use to increase testosterone for women (WITH adrenal problems)??? as it lowers cortisol and increases testosterone…I know you'll know 🙂 <3

  8. I started following counter clockwise outlined by Harvard researcher Ellen Langer. Her experiments show our minds can influence how we age. You're great Dr. Berg, but our minds have power and everyone ages differently.

  9. Nearly all food has some protein in it, proper food combining gives the body complete protein in more than adequate amounts. Your videos offer a lot of good information but I am getting really fed up with the anti-vegetarian/vegan stance.

Hmmm….how can I get healthier, and do as you say while I have only 1/2 a thyroid…I am on no meds….I do take a thyroid support supplement, CoQ10/ Ubiquenol, D3, Raw Multi, Magnesium, MSM, etc…I am overweight and want to get healthy….so how can someone with just 1/2 a thyroid adjust your program to meet their needs to become healthy?

  12. Great video! I am doing great with most of this, will increase exercise! How in the world do I get off HRT? I was crazy and always felt terrible before I got in at 48. I'm now 51! I have decreased the estradiol by half since following you the last couple of months and seem fine. Just don't want to go back to being crazy Wendy! ?

  13. Hi Dr. Berg, this is a great informative video for me. You mentioned no bananas because they have sugar. I have a banana every morning with my cereal. Is this not a good breakfast for weight loss? I am 60 yr old female and could lose at least 10 lbs but I'm stuck and not losing. I do work out 2 x week. Eat a clean diet.

  14. Dr Berg what if you only take the lowest amount of units of hgh in the Am, when you're own HGH production isn't active, that won't shut down your bodys own production or mess with blood sugar too much.. just support collagen and reduce aging, what do you think?
